History

Since 1949

Tschanz Deckenverkleidung AG is a traditional family business founded in 1949 by Otto Tschanz Sen. Over the years, the company has developed into a leading SME in Bern and the surrounding area for the installation of ceiling and wall coverings.

In 1951 they acquired a plot of land in Zollikofen and built a factory and warehouse with offices and a residential building on it.

As a result of the construction boom, but also thanks to the enthusiastic team, the orders increased at the beginning of the seventies and the radius of activity extended far beyond the cantonal borders. Thanks to the constant expansion of the range of services and the specialization of the company, as well as to the competent and conscientious advice and the careful execution of the assigned work, the Tschanz company earned the trust of renowned architects, large companies and numerous private clients. In Bern and the surrounding area, it secured a firm place for itself in this sector of the construction industry.

The constant growth and the increased need for storage and exhibition space presented the management team with the choice of either expanding at the existing site or looking for a completely new location.
After an extensive evaluation phase, Tschanz acquired a plot of land in the Lätti industrial park near Münchenbuchsee in 1992, and after a year of construction, the company was able to move into the new building.

Today, the company employs about 14 professionals, who come from the carpentry or metal construction industry. In addition, there is a close and long-standing cooperation with proven piecework assembly groups.
